Gerber Myth Design & Materials
Gerber Myth is a fixed gaming saw designed to cut through bone and wood without any problems and let you easily clean/dress large game.
The length of the blade is 6.65 inches (with 72 teeth) and the overall length of the tool is 10 inches. The weight of the saw is 0.25 pounds. The fixed blade is paired with an ergonomic T-handle, which ensures a confident grip during any type of big game and woodcutting operations. The saw comes with a dedicated sheath that preserves its sharpness when it is not in use. The sides of the handle feature indentations designed for saw retention within the sheath. Gerber opted for a camouflage color pattern, which goes well with the idea behind this tool.
The blade is made of Sk-5 high-carbon steel known for its strength and innate resistance to bending and breaking. The strength of the steel is Rc 65 and it represents a mixture of carbon-rich manganese. This combination also makes it resistant to abrasions and allows it to keep its sharpness longer. In other words, tools made of Sk-5 high-carbon steel are the best money can buy. The blade also features a fine powdercoat finish.
The grip is made of soft rubber overmold and the material chosen for the sheath is molded plastic. Although you cannot see it, the tang goes all the way through the handle, which ensures the optimal stability of the blade.
Gerber Myth Performance
Gerber Myth was created to tackle hunting operations that require extreme power. Some of the biggest hunting challenges in the US include dressing and prepping an elk or a moose in the field, especially cutting through the chest and pelvic bones. The ergonomic grip and high-carbon steel blade allow you to drive the saw with the utmost confidence and make effective cuts wherever and whenever needed.
The blade comes equipped with unparalleled sharpness and the teeth are well-protected inside the plastic sheath when you stow the saw in your pack. The smooth finish makes it extremely easy to clean and you do not have to worry about any stains or rust due to the overall quality and resistance of the steel.
