SpitJack Injector Materials, Design & Accessories
There is pretty much nothing not to love about SpitJack Injector’s construction and design. It is primarily made of medical-grade stainless steel, with the exception of the 1.7-ounce injector barrel, which is made of food-safe, break-resistant plastic. The needles are extra-strong and virtually unbreakable. It is also worth noting that the injector comes with FDA-approved rubber o-rings.
The ergonomic design features a well-crafted squeeze handle with a rubber coated grip, which requires minimum pressure during use. We also like the patented dial that allows for an easy flow adjustment.
The SpitJack injector gun comes with 4 needles, including 1 with a slanted open tip (0.25 inches), 1 with a closed end and side perforations (0.25 inches), 1 oversized opening needle (0.4 inches), and 1 open-tip thin gauge needle (0.1 inches). The kit also includes 3 custom cleaning brushes for the injector barrel and the needles. All the elements of the kit are neatly stored in a high-quality Cordura nylon case.
SpitJack Injector Performance
Designed for professional use, SpitJack Injector can be used with all sorts of marinades and flavoring mixes thanks to the wide variety of needles available in the kit. If you want to use liquid-only solutions, you can opt for the needle with side perforations. If you use fine herbs and spices, the needle with the slanted open tip is the way to go. The oversized opening needle can handle minced garlic, onion, and other larger particles while the thinner gauge needle is best suited for liquid-only solutions and small cuts due to the smaller opening and minimized puncture hole.
The injector gun allows for effortless use, as all you need to do is insert the needle into the meat and squeeze the handle, applying minimum pressure. The penetration depth of 5.5 inches is enough for virtually all purposes, the 1.7-ounce capacity eliminates the need for frequent refills, and the patented dose adjustment dial allows you to dispense 0.03-0.2 ounces of marinade per shot.
SpitJack Injector Maintenance
While the injector gun and its accessories are not dishwasher-safe, they are still easy to clean. Before cleaning, you should remove the injector barrel by unscrewing the ring at the back end of the barrel. All exposed parts should be hand-washed in warm water and soap, which takes about 2 minutes. After washing the parts, you should rinse them thoroughly and dry them before reassembling. You should clean the injector after every use to prevent mold and bacteria growth.
To thoroughly clean the needles and the injector barrel, you can use the 3 cleaning brushes provided in the package. To keep the gun in optimal condition, coat the o-rings with vegetable oil.
