Wyoming Saw Design & Materials

Wyoming Saw features a compact 3-part design, which makes it easy and safe to carry around in your backpack and bug out bag or attached to your belt. The provided sheath protects the inside of your pack from the teeth of the blade.

The saw comes with two blades designed to cut wood and bone. The length of the blades is 11.13 inches and the overall length of the saw is 13.4 inches. The total weight of the tool is 1.1 pounds (with the sheath). You can assemble it in mere seconds and the implemented finger guard protects your knuckles from bruising.

Wyoming Saw comes with a stainless steel frame paired with a die-cast aluminum handle. The blades are made of heat-treated stainless steel, which increases their resistance to corrosion and allows them to tolerate abrasions and high mechanical stresses.

The sheath is made of thick well-sewn leather stock (not nylon).

Wyoming Saw Performance

Wyoming Saw was primarily designed for hunting purposes but can be used for a variety of tasks in your home or out in the field. Its sturdy construction makes it infinitely superior to regular folding saws and the materials used guarantee years of optimal service.

With that in mind, Wyoming Saw can be used to effectively prep and dress large game, including cutting through problematic chest bones and rib cages. Given its design and thin blades, which cut during both push and pull movements, the saw does require some amount of expertise in handling similar tools. Having said that, it is an excellent high-quality practice tool as it can work with commercially available replacement blades you can find at pretty much any hardware store.

As mentioned, the blades are replaceable and the overall lifespan of the saw depends on the severity of the performed tasks, maintenance, and handling expertise. The break-apart construction makes Wyoming Saw very easy to clean even after the messiest of actions.
